Dear 2012/2013 UNN Aspirants, It amazes me when I consider the fact that up till now many of you still call to express your shock and utter disappointment over the cancellation, suspension and postponement of UNN post UTME screening earlier scheduled for 18th - 20th 0f June. Some of you still can’t believe it’s true. Many are still recounting their losses ranging from transport fares to accommodation and feeding bills. In fact, one medicine and surgery aspirant called me once to say that that cancellation has thrown him off balance. Another candidate told me that he has not been able to open his books ever since he travelled back home. According to him, “the morale is no more there.” And that is the current experience of many UNN post UME screening candidates. Friends, it ought not to be so. Whatever happened has happened. Who was responsible for the irregularities witnessed on the first day of the exam? Why did it happen? How can such a thing happen in a reputable school like UNN? How can UNN be so heartless that they never consider the plight of candidates aspiring to be admitted there? All these are the wrong questions to ask. Alas! Those are the kind of questions I’ve gotten from many of you in the past few days. Some of you are really taking it personal. My own questions are: before the exams were canceled and postponed, were you prepared enough to score at least 350 in the exams? How are you taking advantage of the 5 extra weeks you’ve been given? Remember, if you are not taking advantage of that, many others are. And don’t forget that NECO exams are soon going to be over. Many NECO candidates who registered for UNN post UTME but decided to write their NECO exams instead (because of the clash in timetable) will be free to join the struggle come July 27th and 28th. More so, UNN will surely tighten up every loose end. They will be up against irregularities of any kind and believe me, the questions may be everything but cheap this time around.
